I am 14 years old so sex is not the way i got the molluscum. it was probably from the men's showers in my school for the basketball team. i have done a lot of research and i read that apple cider vinegar and epsom salt baths are good home remedies. I have been to two different dermatologists and both times neither treatments worked. The first derm. use a scraping devices and then froze it with something in a spray can. The second derm. used a medicene that was in a, little dark brown bottle. That made a yellowish almost, scab over the molluscum and when i washed it off (as instructed by the derm.) it burned like crazy and it made them even worse. I need help please i am tired of seein gthose things on my penis.

In July went to a car show came home with red on face,neck,arms,ankles and spots on top of feet. It itched without any relief. Every time I went out which was every weekend to the festivals I would get more red and more itching. My doctor told me to go to a dermatologist by it has cleared up now that it isn't hot and sunny any more. So what could a drmatologist do at this point? We did change one medication that I was taking that my have caused this. What can a dermatoloist do now? I have now a virus and been coughing and have taken some otc meds for it. Now I have this itching on my neck and some on my face, no rash just itching. Is this a reaction to something I've taken or an interaction between my regualr meds and the otc meds? Is this also something that I sould see a drmatologist for? Please, Please help me I am tire of all this!

it might moving from a dry climate like alaska to a place where the air has more humidity or water vapor the air would be moist not as dry as it is in alaska but move to a place where it stays warm all year round if you would want to help her skin by not giving her skin the moistier it needs it will stay dry like that so yes moving from a dry climate to a wet climate it will help her skin a little at first then over time it should get better if it does not get better i suggest going to a doctor so they can tell you that moving may help

Dry skin results from the loss of oils (sebum) in the skin that serve as a natural moisturizer. This may occur with excessive bathing (particularly with hot water), low humidity (in desert climates or cold winter weather), advancing age, or the use of drying soaps (antibacterial, deodorant soaps, Ivory).

In addition, several skin disorders, such as atopic dermatitis, lead to dry skin.

The tendency for dry skin runs in families and is usually a recurring problem, especially in winter. Because of this seasonal occurrence, it is sometimes referred to as “winter itch.”

It is important to regularly apply a moisturizer when your skin becomes dry. Moisturizer is best applied within 3 minutes after a shower or bath when your skin is still damp, but not wet.

Use hypoallergenic and fragrance-free moisturizers. The drier the skin, the “thicker” the moisturizer should be. For some people with very dry skin, petrolatum (Vaseline) is quickly absorbed and may be required to sufficiently moisturize the skin. Other effective moisturizers that are readily available include:

CeraVe
Cetaphil
Eucerin
Aquaphor

In severe cases, your doctor may recommend a urea- or lactic-acid-based product.

Keratosis pilaris (KP) describes bumpy,dry skin. It can occur at any age or location, but it is particularly common on the upper arms in teenagers or on the cheeks of infants.

The rash of keratosis pilaris seldom itches, is never painful, and is similar in texture to coarse sandpaper. KP is more common in people with dry skin, such as people with atopic dermatitis (eczema). It tends to arise or worsen during winter months when the air is dry.

Keratosis pilaris is caused by hair follicles becoming plugged by dry skin cells.

Treatment is focused on moisturizing the skin and gently removing the outermost layers of excessive skin (exfoliation).
